Woofstock
Party with your pet at Suwanee Town Park in Suwanee during Woofstock! This free event takes place May 5–6 and features fun activities including live music, pet adoptions, food, and more. Dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, and other kinds of pets are welcome.
Flick-Nic
Pack a dinner picnic and bring the family to Candler Park in Atlanta to watch a free movie in the park. On May 6 the movie shown will be “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” at 7 p.m. Music will be played 1 hour before dusk in front of the pool house for those who bring a picnic.
TENNESSEE
Zoovie Night
Bring the family to the Nashville Zoo on May 25 for a fun movie night from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. There will be games, music, crafts, zip line, carousel, and much more. At sun set “Moana” will play on an inflatable screen.
Kidsville at the Parthenon
Visit the Parthenon on Saturdays from 11 to 11:45 a.m. for this free family-friendly event. There will be entertainment, music, arts and crafts, storytelling, and more.

Beachfront Movies
Bring the family to Huntington State Beach in Los Angeles for a movie at the beach. At each screening there will be jumbo beanbags, games, contests, food, and more. There are a variety of movies playing throughout May.
Mother’s Day Marina Green 5K and Kids Run
Start Mother’s Day with a 5K on May 13 at the Little Marina Green in San Francisco. Race starts at 9 a.m. for runners and walkers or self-timers may start earlier that the official start time. The children’s 1/2 mile run starts at 9:45 a.m.

Soluna Festival: Passport to the Park
Explore the culture of Dallas with this free family-friendly event at Klyde Warren Park on May 27. It starts at 10 a.m. and features music, yoga, a community mosaic art project, and more.
Play and Explore C.W. Gill Park Playground
Spend an afternoon with your kids at the playground at C.W. Gill Park in Abilene. Pack a picnic and enjoy some time outdoors.

Mother’s Day Brunch
Celebrate Mother’s Day with brunch at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. Make a reservation to treat your mother on May 13 at either 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m., or 1 p.m. There will be a buffet and live music.
Bark in the Park
Head outdoors on May 19 and have some fun with your dog at the Bark in the Park fundraiser. Walk a 5k at the Stadium Green next to Soldier Field in Chicago. After the walk, there will be live music, free food, activities for the family, doggie massages, and more.
MICHIGAN
Sunday Fun Day and Mother’s Day Brunch
Celebrate mom at Jimmy Johns Field in Utica on May 13 before the first pitch. Brunch starts at 11 a.m. at the party patio area with the game to follow. Children can run the bases after the game.
Spring Elation JARCapalooza
This inclusive family event is fun for all. It takes place May 10 at Emagine in Royal Oak from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. It benefits children, teens, and adults with disabilities. There will be movies, food, face painting, bowling, and more!

Veterans Memorial Parade
Catch the Somerville Veterans Memorial Parade on May 20 starting at Somerville City Hall in Boston at 3 p.m. The parade will honor organizations and members of the armed service branches.
Lilac Sunday
Enjoy the beautiful lilacs at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University in Boston on May 13. There will be tours of the lilacs as well as family activities from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to pack a picnic from the Arboretum and celebrate Mother’s Day outdoors.

Mother’s Day Weekend Garden Party
Visit the New York Botanical Garden May 12 and 13 to celebrate Mother’s Day. There will be family activities, live music, food, tours, and more. This event starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
Memorial Day Commemoration
Celebrate Memorial Day at Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument at New York on May 29 from 10 a.m. until noon. This free event features music performed by the United States Navy Band followed by a procession with Scottish pipes and drums.

Doggie Dash
Join the Oregon Humane Society on May 12 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland for the Doggie Dash. Choose from a 1.5 or 2.5 mile walk/run with your dog. There will be breakfast, pet festival, food, and more.
Mother’s Day Brunch
Celebrate Mother’s Day on May 13 at the Oregon Zoo in Portland. Enjoy brunch then see the exotic animals within the zoo. Brunch starts at 9 a.m. and ends 1 p.m.
