Yellow Daisy Festival
Bring the family to the Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain from September 6–9. This year is the 50th anniversary of the festival. To celebrate there will be lots of new artists, live performances, children’s activities, food, and more.

Big Peach Sizzler
Celebrate Labor Day by participating in the Big Peach Sizzler! This Atlanta tradition offers a 5K and 10K option. Both courses end at Buckhead Station Shopping Center with a post-race party for you to show off your finisher medals!

NORTH CAROLINA

Inclusive Playground at Ellis Park
Bring the kids to play at the new inclusive playground at Ellis Park in Salisbury. From poured in place surfacing to access to meaningful activities, this play environment allows for children of all abilities to play together.

Wake Forest Unplugged
Spend an afternoon technology-free at Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest on September 2. There will be a variety of activities including corn hole, mini golf, relay races, and more. Pack a picnic and enjoy quality time outdoors.

CALIFORNIA

dOGUMENTA
dOGUMENTA is an art show for dogs! Artists have created pieces that address the canine senses through different media including sound, kibble, squeaky toys, sculpture, and more. This free show takes place September 14–16 and 21–23 at FIGat7th in downtown LA. One leashed dog is allowed per person.

Children’s Garden
The Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco is putting on a Children’s Garden program on Fridays this month. This free event features interactive performing arts designed for children 10 years old and younger.

TEXAS

Labor Day Backyard Barbecue
Celebrate Labor Day weekend at the George Ranch House in Richmond from September 1–3. Enjoy good barbecue, traditional games, vintage radio, and old fashioned ice cream.

San Antonio Zoo
Enjoy Labor Day weekend with a trip to the San Antonio Zoo. See exotic plants and 750 species of animals while enjoy the outdoors.

MIDWEST

ILLINOIS

Midnight Circus in the Park
This September, the Midnight Circus is performing under the little big top at parks throughout Chicago. They seek to bring world-class circus performers to communities for affordable and accessible shows. What’s more, they also help raise funds to improving the park and surrounding neighborhood. Check out the full schedule for specific dates, times, and locations.

ZooRunRun
Sign up for the ZooRunRun at the Brookfiend Zoo on September 9. This race helps raise funds for animal care and conservation. There’s a 5K course and a 1-mile course for children 4–13 years old. Runners can bring their friends and family into the zoo for free!

MICHIGAN

Arts, Beats, & Eats
Celebrate Labor Day with the Arts, Beats, and Eats event in downtown Royal Oak from August 31 through September 3. There will be lots of live performances, fine arts show, food, and more. Funds raised will go to local charities.

Labor Day Third Street Bridge Walk
Get outside this Labor Day with a fun community walk in Grand Haven. Start at the North side of the 3rd Street Bridge and walk 3.5 mils to end at the Chinook Pier. There will be prizes from local businesses.

MASSACHUSETTS

Bread & Roses Heritage Festival
Celebrate Labor Day with a multi-cultural outdoor music festival at Campagnone North Common in Lawrence. There will be family-friendly activities, many vendors, food, trolley tours, and more.

Revels RiverSing
The 15th annual Revels RiverSing event takes place September 22 at Herter Park Amphitheater in Allston. This free event celebrates the beginning of fall. There will be family-friendly activities, communal singing, food, and special surprises!

NEW YORK

Little Red Lighthouse Festival
Celebrate Manhattan’s only lighthouse with the Little Red Lighthouse Festival on September 29 at Fort Washington Park. This free event features live performances, fishing clinics, art vendors, and more.

Tunnel to Towers
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk pays homage to the many firefighters, law enforcement officers, and civilians who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Proceeds from this event support injured service members. This race is starting at the IKEA Parking Lot 9 Red Hook in Brooklyn.

NORTHWEST

OREGON

Sunday Parkways
Enjoy eight miles of walking or biking at the Northeast Sunday Parkways event on September 23 in Portland without cars on the road. Parks along this route will offer family-friendly activities, live music, food, and more.

Carlton Crush Harvest Festival
This Harvest Festival takes place at Wennerberg Park in Carlton on September 8. This free event features grape stomping competitions, watermelon eating contests, art vendors, live music, food, and more.

WASHINGTON

Bremerton Blackberry Festival
Celebrate Labor Day weekend by heading to the Blackberry Festival. This free festival takes place on the waterfront boardwalk in downtown Bremerton. Enjoy children’s activities, fun run, chalk art, live performances, food, and more.

Seattle Children’s Festival
Bring the whole family to the Seattle Children’s Festival on September 22 at the Seattle Center Armory and Fisher Pavilion. There will be live performances, interactive activities, dance workshops, arts and crafts, and more!
