The Text Recap of the X Space, Superchat Night Ep. 2, Part 2

(continuing from recap part 1)

👑Kate: Speaking of Sidekicks now, Sidekicks are a very important axis of the SVL ecosystem. How do you think these Sidekick Crew Rivals affect the economy?

👼Joseph: As mentioned, Sidekick is a key component of our ecosystem. In the future, we envision combining Sidekick with Villain to create a “Supervillain” as we mentioned at the early stage of our project, or using it in various ways across different games. However, for the in-game economy to thrive, we need to grow our player base.

👑Kate: What’s the current dynamic with players and Sidekick usage?

👼Joseph: Right now, we see two main player groups. Those new to Web3 are introduced to it through the game, on Google Play or App Store, and they often only experience the Baby Sidekick and keep questioning how can I get better Sidekicks. Meanwhile, core Web3 gamers may have many Sidekicks but usually keep only enough to maintain the deck they need for their gameplay.

👑Kate: So, how are we approaching the challenge of expanding the use of Sidekick?

👼Joseph: We’re tackling this from multiple angles. First, we’re taking steps to maintain Sidekick’s market value by regularly using a portion of our revenue to support its price, like a buyback mechanism. However, relying solely on providing capsules and reducing supply might not be sustainable.

👑Kate: That makes sense. What are some sustainable strategies we’re implementing?

👼Joseph: We’re adding in-game growth options that consume Sidekicks and introducing Web3-based events like Sidekick Crew Rivals.

We’re also preparing Web2-based gameplay options and enabling trades among Sidekick holders, both from the Web3 side and in-game side. So by broadening Sidekick’s in-game and Web3 usage, we’re aiming to maintain its value and strengthen its place within both the game and ecosystem.

👑Kate: Thank you for your explanation on this.

I’m personally very excited about the Sidekick Crew Rivals. I’m very curious to see who will form teams together, what Crew will come together and what kind of dynamics will emerge among the communities.

The event this time is like a pilot run, so we are testing if everything’s working alright. But just to make sure, I said testing but we will have prizes so don’t worry(haha)

Because it’s a pilot run, we will have some pre-set crews, like the Houses of Hogwarts. If the event goes well and receives positive feedback, we plan to add a crew creation feature in the future, so maybe you could actually form a new Crew and become like the strongest Crew in the world. So enjoy this event, and we’d appreciate any kind and constructive feedback you can provide!

So that was about the Sidekick Crew Rivals.

Game Updates

👑Kate: So how about Supervillain Wanted now? It’s already November and everybody must be curious about what’s coming up soon.

So I heard there will be some major updates this month. Is it going to be Lucas who is explaining this? Can you tell us a little about what’s going on?

😈Lucas: It is hard to believe but the first-day performance of Supervillain Wanted has been surprisingly good. We’ve been analyzing the data specifically from users who joined through paid ads, not from the community. Since the launch, we’ve been working to improve these metrics. Our retention rate, which shows how often users come back, and the paying rate, which shows how many make purchases, are in the top ranks for this genre. However, the game metrics drop from the second day onward, showing that the game is lacking depth.

In the current version of Supervillain Wanted, players don’t have much control over leveling up their captains, villains, and sidekicks, and there’s little differentiation between players. This makes it hard for competitive or cooperative content to succeed. Simply obtaining villains through random draws leads to passive, luck-based choices. To address this, we’re adding new features in November: a “Villain Talent” system for developing specific villains, a “Rift Content” mode where players can clear stages using unique villain combinations, and new non-combat content for a richer growth experience.

👑Kate: Yeah as Lucas said, we actually have good game metrics at the beginning of players joining the game. But then after that it disrupts from the second day onward, and we found out that we need more depth in the game, so that’s why we are going to have some major content update this month.

Villain Talent, and Rift content sound already pretty interesting. That’s why we have Hayden today, who is in charge of game system design. Could you please say hello to the audience again, and tell us more about the update?

️⚽️Hayden: Hello again! I’m Hayden. Happy to be here today!

👑Kate: So Lucas just mentioned the Rift. As far as I know the name is Elemental Rift. What is it?

️⚽️Hayden: The Elemental Rift is a new challenge content that is going to be updated in November. By challenge I mean it will be difficult.

👑Kate: Difficult…how difficult?

️⚽️Hayden: You won’t be able to beat it with auto-formation.

👑Kate: Oh no. I want an easy life. I want it to be automatic. Anyway, Elemental Rift sounds like it’s related to Elements somehow. What can you get by playing?

️⚽️Hayden: By clearing Elemental Rifts you can get some Elemental energy. Those Elemental energies will be used in the Elemental Research Lab where you can amplify various stats your team has.

👑Kate: Elemental Energy… so we already have the five Elements in the game: Fire, Water, Wood, Dark, and Light — so you will get those kinds of energies through clearing Elemental Rifts. And then we will have a research lab where you can amplify your stats; that sounds very important. And you previously said the Elemental Rift will be very difficult to beat. What makes it so challenging?

️⚽️Hayden: Until now most battles were just about competing against monsters with DPS(Damage per second). But in the Elemental Rift there will be many different constraints that make it difficult to beat the levels. You will need more strategy in combining your team’s elements and skills.

👑Kate: I’m already crying.

️⚽️Hayden: We will also introduce a new system that will help players to strategically approach Elemental Rifts. It’s called the Villain Talent System. Villains will get 4 new stats which are Strength, Agility, Intelligence, and Wisdom. Each Villain has their own specialty, and by enhancing talents that suits the specialty, they will become very powerful.

👑Kate: Personally I like intelligence, because I want to be intelligent. So what does intelligence do?

️⚽️Hayden : Intelligence improves Villain’s skill damage.

Other talents will also have their own characteristics, so you can build your team deck how you want.

👑Kate: How can you enhance the Villains’ talents?

️⚽️Hayden: There will be Talent stone, we can get those from various contents. such as operation, daily missions…and so on

👑Kate: I’m looking forward to growing my favorite Villains stronger. So you can actually choose your favorite Villains and kind of enhance their talents and make them stronger and make your kind of special squad of Villains to beat those challenging Elemental Rifts.

Ok, when do you expect all these updates to happen; when in November?

️⚽️Hayden: It’s November 21st.

👑Kate: We will do our best to meet the announced schedule. And also, speaking about dates, we previously mentioned that we are going to make it available, the Costume trade. The Costumes you purchased in the game or the costumes you brought into the game will be available for exporting and trade. In the announcement we said early December. When exactly will this be?

😈Lucas: All players will be able to bring their costumes out for trading starting December 5th.

👑Kate: December 5th, so it’s pretty soon. Just in one month. I’m looking forward to it; then it means the costumes I bought inside the game, I can export them to my inventory and wallet, and also the costume I had in one server I can move to another, so I can brag about my cute costumes. Yeah I’m happy about that.

There was actually one person who wanted to know if we’re going to have some Christmas costume coming up. Can we look forward to it?

😈Lucas: Of course! As Kate mentioned, a Christmas-themed costume is a must-have feature for the year-end update, but we’re also brainstorming more fun ways for the community to come together and feel the holiday spirit inside the game.

👑Kate: Time for some sneak peek! Actually I just posted a tweet on our Twitter, we have a sneak peek picture of it, I see a Christmas tree and people who are walking around and expressing different emojis. Joseph can you please pin it to-

👼Joseph: I just pinned it to the Twitter space.

👑Kate: Yes thank you!

👼Joseph: We’re actually creating a community based playground for players so they can mingle together.

👑Kate: That sounds good! Actually we already have our costumes but we have nobody to show it to, so if we have this kind of feature then we can brag about our costumes and chat and also interact with other people inside the game — sounds pretty interesting!

I really like the feeling of being together with other players in the game. I’m very much looking forward to it.

Is there anything more about the update to share that is coming up soon, Hayden?

⚽️Hayden: We’re introducing some major content in the next updates, so we’ve also added features to reduce the play fatigue of existing contents. There are too many updates to list them all, but to name a few that many players have been requesting:

First, we’ve added convenience features to the Operations content. You can now use a continuous challenge function where you can easily keep challenging, and a speed-up mode where you can clear the battles faster. Also, in the World Dungeon, you previously couldn’t sweep unless you cleared the boss. Now, you can sweep up to the progress you’ve made so far.

Another improvement involves Guide Quests. So far, We’ve had to press the quest buttons thousands of times, I hated it too.

👑Kate: Me, too. XD

️⚽️Hayden: But after the update, You won’t have to do that anymore. The guide quest will come in a very simplified version, and the Achievement system will be updated to provide long-term play goals.

We know there’s still a lot to improve, but we’ll keep working as hard as we can to make things better. Please keep sharing your feedback with us!

👑Kate: Keep up the great work! I’m looking forward to seeing all these improvements. Because as a person who stands directly in front of the community, the thing that makes me happy the most is seeing happy, satisfied players. And it always makes me so sad when people are unhappy about game features (haha) have mercy with me please

So that was about our plan for November with the game updates. And now — I think you are already waiting for the raffle results and also for the keyword but I’m going to cover the raffle results first.

Event

👑Kate: So once again, to explain the rules, the AMA ticket holders — the tickets were given to server 3 to celebrate the opening of the new server, and holders of the tickets could participate. The more tickets the higher the chances to win.

Honestly we initially expected more entries but as aforementioned, it wasn’t easy to spread the information so — all entries of the tickets, all valid entries will win tonight, plus a portion of the remaining prize pool will be used today for the Space attendees, as I announced beforehand. Another portion of the remainder will be carried over to the next Superchat Night, coming on December 7th.

So now really really to the results: I’m going to announce only the number 1 player who will get 20 APT, and the 5 winners who will win 5 APT each. I will call their nicknames on server 3. I apologize for my inability to pronounce the name.

The lucky winner who will get 20 APT is — how do I read this? -

🥁🥁🥁(table-drum roll in the background)🥁🥁🥁

The winner is, I will just spell it, Se1cATneT. Congratulations, you have won the 1st prize, 20 APT. (applause) and then, we have the 5 winners who will win 10 APT each I will call their names:

Aaaaand now to the attendee event: We will select 50 people who will get 1 APT each. Requirements are: you need to have an SVL Inventory, and you need to get the answer to the quiz right. I know everybody’s waiting for this, I want to enjoy the thrill, but, yeah…

The keyword is: Sidekick. The answer to the quiz is Sidekick. Please enter your Inventory ID and also your Twitter handle in the form along with the secret keyword Sidekick. Sidekick!

Closing

👑Kate: The Space that made me super nervous tonight, is coming to an end. So how was it, everyone? Lucas? Joseph? Hayden? KS?

Is there anyone who wants to say something about how they felt, or any last words?

(everybody just smiles)

👑Kate: Joseph!

👼Joseph: Me?

👑Kate: Yeah

👼Joseph: I know that since we had the Supervillain Wanted soft launch, there were a lot of things we needed to improve, while doing our live service, and providing some other event features. So we all know there are some malfunctions and some hard things we couldn’t deliver properly, but we keep working to get everything back on track — and Hayden and all the team is preparing for the upcoming update to provide more fun. So please stay tuned, we will be delivering more fun features pretty soon. Thank you for supporting us.

👑Kate: Thank you for attending the Space tonight. Also Joseph thank you for your excellent comment on this.

I personally had very much fun doing this Space because you don’t really get the chance to force everyone into a meeting room and chat in the Space. So I used this opportunity to enjoy that.

And we will make this Superchat Night event regular, from tonight on, so remember the lucky number 7. Next Space is coming on December 7th! So every month on the 7th, we will do this Superchat Night where we might have people invited over, or we might have our coworkers invited over and talk about the project and our visions and have some alphas and stuff. Please remember every month on the 7th we will be hosting something. At least we will have some surprises for you prepared, so stay tuned for every month.

Now let’s say goodbye to each other…? Thank you for coming, thank you for your precious time tonight. Please say goodbye, everyone.

😈🤖⚽️👼All: Thank you! Goodbye!

😈Lucas: See you again on December 7.

👑Kate: December 7! Before that, don’t forget our game update on the 21st of November. And don’t forget the secret keyword, we will close the entry at 3pm UTC so make sure to enter.

🤖️️KS: And don’t forget the Sidekick Crew Rivals!

👑Kate: Ah yeah! The Sidekick Crew Rivals! Thank you, bye!
