Planet Labs, the California based private earth imaging company, launched their final three high-resolution satellites- SkySat -19, 20 and 21 on August 18 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket to complete their 21-satellite mission to collect high resolution panchromatic and multispectral images of the entire earth every day.

SkySats 1–18 have already been launched into space and these satellites are above our heads capturing high-resolution images which are used in almost every field. The last six satellites (SkySats 16 to 21) operate in an orbit of 53 degrees where they are capable of capturing images where human activities are found.

Recent pandemic allows journalists and governments to use satellite images on a day-to-day basis to analyze the ground movements of the crowd. Few of the recent events where satellite images help in solving the tensions,

When we are in the middle of climatic changes, pandemic, global warming that are highly alarming, these satellite images are making the officials and governments aware and the decision making process is made easier and sooner. At SuperVision Earth, we use SkySat images in pipeline monitoring cases that pipeline companies can use to detect any threats or damages to the pipeline and can prevent them in advance.
