Students Showcase Patient-Oriented Research at 2022 SHARE Summit
NL SUPPORT has a number of funding opportunities that assist students, researchers and professionals conduct patient-oriented research.
The 2022 Science, Health and Research Education (SHARE) Summit took place in November and featured a poster session where both undergraduate and graduate students showcased the progress on their patient-oriented research projects.
Each poster was reviewed by a panel of NL SUPPORT and Quality of Care NL staff, as well as patient partners, and scored based on its suitability for a public/patient-based audience (i.e. Is the language accessible for a patient/public audience? Is the poster a knowledge product for patients, as opposed to clinicians, policymakers, and researchers?).
In the undergraduate student category, the winner was Molly Downey for the poster Educator Perspectives Toward Teaching Cannabis Education in the Classroom.
Molly is a student in Memorial University’s Faculty of Science (Psychology) whose research focuses on developing a youth cannabis health literacy strategy.
In the graduate student category, the winner was Noah Pevie for the poster Developing a Body Image Measure for Transgender Populations.
Noah is working on a MSc in Experimental Psychology at Memorial University.
