In September 2023, the NL government launched the province’s first Well-Being Week to empower individuals, families, communities, and organizations to learn about well-being and take steps towards improving their health and well-being.

Well-Being Week 2024 will occur from September 22–28. Local organizations interested in hosting events during Well-Being Week can apply for Well-Being Week Grants — up to $1,000 per organization is available. The deadline for application is May 31, 2024.

Other well-being initiatives include the implementation of Regional Well-Being Networks, as well as Community Accounts. Community Accounts gives residents and organizations the opportunity to learn about the well-being of their community and explore what aspects of well-being matter to them. They can also learn about the many different factors that influence well-being. When these factors are used to measure well-being, they are referred to as indicators. These indicators include income, education, employment, life satisfaction, sense of belonging in the community, etc.
