In collaboration with the nonprofit organization Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB), which translates to “My First Bitcoin,” the Ministry of Education in El Salvador is set to integrate Bitcoin education into the national public school curriculum by the year 2024.

John Dennehy, the founder of MPB, confirmed that this initiative is led by the Ministry of Education, with MPB and Bitcoin Beach providing their support.

The core content for the Bitcoin education program will be derived from the Mi Primer Bitcoin program, which awards students with a completion diploma. Dennehy explained that the pilot program’s training phase is scheduled to commence soon, with the assistance of Bitcoin Beach. During this phase, 150 educators from 75 public schools will acquire a fundamental understanding of Bitcoin.

Following this initial training, these teachers will return to their respective schools to instruct students using the curriculum developed by the Ministry of Education. Dennehy added, “If the pilot program proves successful, the intention is to expand it to all schools across the country in the following year.”
