SMB software companies raised ~$1.3B across 75 deals in March, vs.~$2.2B across 72 deals in February.

Largest Deals

The largest deal of the month went to Toast, a developer of point-of-sale platform for restaurants and catering businesses based in Boston completed a $250M Series E round in March led by TCV and Tiger Global Management. This round comes 8 months after Toast reached unicorn status in July 2018. Large chunk of the proceeds will be dedicated to further scaling the business and carry out its plan to invest $1 billion in R&D over the next five years.
