Laird Hamilton, surfeur américain de 53 ans est une légende du surf. Un film documentaire de 2h retrace la vie du hawaïen.
Véritable waterman et précurseur dans de nombreux domaines : surf tracté en jet-ski (tow-in), adepte du surf de grosses vagues (big wave rider), de stand-up-paddle (SUP) et récemment explorateur passionné du surf foil qui pourrait révolutionner la pratique du surf.

The Life of Laird Hamilton tracks the remarkable life and legendary career of big wave surfer Laird Hamilton. Much admired by the public, though often disdained or ignored by the surf industry itself, Laird is a unique sports icon — an athlete who has refused to compete professionally yet has dominated big wave surfing as no other figure in history has ever done.
Laird’s biographical story is told against the backdrop of a winter surf season on Kauai, where El Niño storm systems threaten to bring the biggest surf in decades. La MILLENIUM WAVE
Laird est connu notamment pour cette vague surfée à Teahupoo (Tahiti) en Août 2000 qui donnera d’ailleurs l’une des plus belles photos de surf.

Laird Hamilton a mis son énergie récemment sur le développement du stand-up foil dont voici une démo à Guéthary sur la côte basque en Avril 2017.
