Waves of Change : Une coalition pour des solutions de croissance bleue et d’économie verte
Un évènement “Waves of Change Forum” en Juin 2021 et des workshops en ligne d’ici là.
Ce projet (via une association) dans lequel je contribue est en place depuis fin 2019 avec comme objectif un événement qui devait avoir lieu en ce mois de Juin 2020 au Casino Bellevue à Biarritz quelques jours avant l’édition Vivatech parisienne au Parc des Expos porte de Versailles.
Evénement international devant réunir plus de 200 participants et ayant obtenu le label “© Vivatech official side event”, nous avons, comme le salon parisien Vivatech, décidé de reporter notre Forum au Printemps 2021 suite à la crise sanitaire actuelle.
Un mini-évènement plus localisé aux frontières de l’Europe se tiendra fin Septembre 2020 à Anglet (64) avec comme point d’orgue le Waves of Change Forum de Juin 2021. En attendant nos événements “en présentiel” et depuis Mars 2020, nous avons décidé de proposer des workshops en ligne sur des thématiques liées à nos sujets.

L’impact des pandémies et des catastrophes naturelles sur l’ensemble de nos sociétés a mis en lumière l’importance cruciale d’oeuvrer à préserver la santé globale de la planète. Face à des phénomènes complexes et interconnectés, nous croyons plus que jamais à la force de l’intelligence collective, des collaborations pluri-disciplinaires et des efforts concertés de parties-prenantes alliées en vue d’accélérer vers une transition plus effective.

Aider les acteurs internationaux de la transition à s’allier plus rapidement et plus efficacement pour préserver la biosphère.

Tout au long de l’année, nos groupes de travail internationaux cultivent la collaboration interdisciplinaire avec 3 objectifs pour les participants:
Obtenir des solutions plus rapides et plus optimales;
Tirer des enseignements du processus de collaboration et partager les meilleures pratiques;
Mieux comprendre l’activité des autres parties-prenantes et identifier des synergies.

From international organizations to local authorities, NGOs, investors and startups alike, taking the environment into account and taking care of it has emerged as a top priority in order to ensure health, well-being and better living conditions across the globe. The recent impact the COVID-19 pandemic and other natural disasters have had on our societies have emphasized the crucial importance of preserving a healthy planet.
At Waves of Change we have realized that complex, global phenomena are actually intricately interconnected, and that human activity and the environment perpetually impact each other. It is high time for a new approach to the way we look at the planet, handle global and local challenges, and do business.
The coalition- A different approach:
Our approach and answer to this new context is a not-for-profit coalition: we aim to emulate nature and form symbiotic solutions that optimize interactions and collaborations between the most diverse stakeholders.
International and diverse by design:
Each of our international, online work groups starts with an NGO, a startup, an investor, a researcher and a business from different regions of the globe connecting to address a common challenge. More relevant participants can be added along the way and in order to iterate together with three goals:
- Coming up with a new solution none of them would have been able to develop that quickly on their own;
- Learning from the process of collaboration and by sharing best practices;
- Getting to know other stakeholders’ businesses better.
Topics include ocean and environment preservation, renewable energies, the fashion industry transition, biomimicry applications, coastal adaptation, green IT, circular economy, new sustainability KPIs, and more.
Every year, the Waves of Change Forum brings together our work groups participants in Biarritz, France to share their advancements and work groups outcomes, get to know each other better and collectively set new goals and next steps. Our Forum is part of the Official Side Events Program of leading European Tech Conference Vivatech.
Participants are members of the Waves of Change coalition, who have access to the different work group deliverables, online and physical meetings, community gatherings, and shared contacts, resources and best practices from around the world. This puts them in a unique position to accelerate their organizations’ learning curve and transition for the future.

A Wave of Change by essence:
- Originates from a specific trend, phenomenon, technology, approach or opportunity with the potential to create systemic change. It can be initiated by nature and/or human activity or discoveries as per the above examples.
- From there, we formalize it into a work group consisting of at least one startup, one corporation, one investor or finance industry stakeholder, one NGO or public sector organization and one member from academia.
- The purposely small group will be international, multicultural and multi-industry by design and will be led by one organization with support from Waves of Change.
- The goal of the group is to ride the Wave together as far as possible, i.e. define a shared objective that leverages identified trends and makes a measurable, positive and collective impact on the environment while helping to advance every participant’s agenda.
- The group develops its own rules, such as meeting frequency and approach in order to showcase concrete results during the next Waves of Change Forum.
