To continue on this journey, we’re excited to announce Susa Ventures III, a $90M seed stage fund.
A look back on Susa I & Susa II
Since our inception in 2013, Susa Ventures has been fortunate to be seed-stage partners with some of the world’s leading startups, including Robinhood, Flexport, Andela and Expanse. We’ve partnered with 90 companies to date. Collectively, Susa portfolio companies have an aggregate value of more than $12B, employ 4,000 people, and generate annual revenue of over $2B.
The Susa Family approach
As part of Susa III, we invited existing Susa Ventures founders to become limited partners via a parallel fund with no fees and no carry, which over 40 founders participated in. We want the Susa Family to share in the success of one another. As Sean Henry, founder of Stord explains it,
“When I got the chance to become not only a Susa founder, but also an investor, I jumped at the opportunity. Susa’s early performance ranks well-above the top 5% benchmark [according to Cambridge Associates data].”
We believe great companies take time to build. As a result, we’re excited to announce, alongside our seed-focused fund, a $50M opportunity fund to continue to back Susa companies in their later-stage rounds. As an example, we’ve been fortunate to back Flexport from its seed-stage, all the way through the latest Series D led by Softbank. As Ryan Petersen, founder and CEO of Flexport explains,

They introduced some of Flexport’s most important early customers, followed on in every financing round, and even helped facilitate the raising of our $110M Series C round. Not your ordinary seed fund, they work hard to change the trajectory of all their companies.”
The Susa Experience
At Susa, we strive to be the most accessible and supportive early stage investor. As we look ahead, we’re excited to expand our capabilities with the launch of the Susa Experience, our platform of support for Susa companies. We have honed our offerings into four areas: Community, Storytelling, Wellness and Talent. We’re excited to share more about our products in the months to come.
