Welcoming Pratyush Buddiga to Susa Ventures

We frequently advise founders to hire people who bring a new perspective to the team and make the team stronger. We also try to take that advice ourselves. This is why we’re delighted to welcome Pratyush Buddiga to Susa Ventures. Pratyush is joining the investment team as Chief of Staff to our General Partner, Leo Polovets. He will be working closely with Leo on all new investments, helping existing Susa founders, and many other projects.

Pratyush is exceptionally smart, with a beginner’s mind and a deep commitment to growth. As a teenager, he won the National Spelling Bee and National AAA Travel Challenge. He followed that up with a six-year standout poker career and was ranked as high as #2 in the world for tournaments. He approaches new topics with intellectual open-mindedness, while valuing the discipline and commitment that is required for exceptional results.

We believe he has all the ingredients to be a world-class investor. Even more importantly, he’s a kind and generous human being — -the kind of person that everyone likes to work with and spend time with.

He brings a lot of experience with human behavior, psychology, decision-making, and we’re excited for him to share that expertise with us, the founders we work with, and the rest of the Susa family. He recently wrote his first piece on decision-making over at his Substack.

Pratyush also has startup experience, having been Chief of Staff at Volley, helping scale the company from 12 to 30 employees and working on projects in business operations, legal, recruiting, and investor relations.
