Wednesday, 1 September: Japan Dolphins Day, to raise awareness of and protest against the Taiji dolphin hunt
Saturday, 4 September (first Saturday of September): International Vulture Awareness Day
Sunday, 5 September: Amazon Day (International), to drive awareness of the threats to the Amazon biome
Tuesday, 7 September: International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies
Thursday, 16 September: International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer
Friday, 17 September (third Friday in September): PARK(ing) Day (International), an activism day in which street parking spaces are converted into tiny parks, aimed at highlighting the ways streets are used.
Friday, 17 to Sunday, 26 September: The Great British Beach Clean¹
Saturday, 18 September:
- (third Saturday in September) World CleanUp Day, an international day of litter picking
- (third Saturday in September) International Red Panda Day
- World Water Monitoring Day¹, to raise awareness about water pollution
