All month: Organic September in the UK

Wednesday, 1 September: Japan Dolphins Day, to raise awareness of and protest against the Taiji dolphin hunt

Saturday, 4 September (first Saturday of September): International Vulture Awareness Day

Sunday, 5 September: Amazon Day (International), to drive awareness of the threats to the Amazon biome

Tuesday, 7 September: International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies

Thursday, 16 September: International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

Friday, 17 September (third Friday in September): PARK(ing) Day (International), an activism day in which street parking spaces are converted into tiny parks, aimed at highlighting the ways streets are used.

Friday, 17 to Sunday, 26 September: The Great British Beach Clean¹

Saturday, 18 September:

Sunday, 19 to Saturday, 25 September (Third week in September): National Indoor Plant Week in the US.

Monday, 20 to Saturday, 26 September: Recycle Week in the UK

Tuesday, 21 September: Zero Emissions Day (international)

Wednesday, 22 September:

Thursday, 23 September to Saturday, 23 October: Seed Gathering Season (UK)

Friday, 24 September: FSC Friday (Forest Stewardship Council)
