Sadly, many of us make uninformed choices based on convenience and affordability. People are feeding themselves on artificial products, produced in atrocious conditions.
The result has been disastrous.
Studies and research continue to expose the effects these methods are having on our health and the planet’s resources. We have become a nation plagued with chronic diseases, from metabolic syndrome, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and many more.
We have a systemic problem.
Sustainability comes in many guises and has been borne from a need to change systems that could not keep up with feeding the masses, who can no longer feed themselves.
Today many companies are changing to “more sustainable” farming systems. Systems within animal husbandry and agriculture implement many unethical and life-threatening methods in order to meet the demands of burgeoning urban populations.
