In this blog I will be conducting secondary research by reviewing another blog related to sustainable energy. This blog comes from the “World Economic Forum” in which they talk about the top ten countries that are the best at providing affordable and sustainable energy.

Their findings are from 127 countries in which they cover three key areas; Economic growth, the environmental impact of energy supply and consumption and the access and security of energy. The top three countries were Switzerland, Norway and Sweden. The thing these three countries have in common is that they are smaller countries making it easier to make changes to their energy systems versus bigger countries who may not have such an easy transition, which explains why the United States would not be on this list. Other common trends of high performers on the list were having advanced economies, a higher gross domestic product (GDP) and having diversified exports.

After reading this blog I have been able to answer one of my questions from my first blog post which was “Can this be done?”. It is now clear that it is possible to power the world through sustainable energy even if it’s not being done worldwide there are still countries out there making a difference and I am confident other larger countries will follow in these footsteps.
