International Fashion Week ’14 London has hit off with huge diversity in the heart of London’s posh district, Strand. Wedged between Kings College and café Nero is 180 Strand. A huge creative space, placed with fashionable installations that climbed up the walls.

The grungy venue was filled with interesting and new collections from all over the world. At FashionComPassion we started the day early, 10.30 AM, Argentina.

The beautiful, handcrafted handbags offered by Argentinean designers were gorgeous; we went gaga over the huge oversized bags, interesting new materials, contradicting materials and generally an interesting creative process.

As we walked around the different installations, it was interesting to see how the rest of the world views fashion. From Vietnamese designers to Paraguay, Philippines, Qatar, China and many more, the International Fashion Week 2014 brought an influx of various creative individuals. The countries displayed their individual styles of fashion, incorporating their culture, unique styles and represented their own modern versions of what fashion is like in their own countries.

Designer Lorena Sosa, an Argentinean women’s wear designer, was showcasing her handbags in which she incorporated contradicting materials as well as using natural products only available in Argentina. When asked about her collection Lorena replied,

“I use all products that are local, home grown from Argentina. My designs are for the modern Argentinean woman.”

Another favourite designer of Fashion ComPassion was Adante Leyesa from Philippines who specialises in accessories. His statement piece necklaces and embroidered and embellished handbags were stunning. His use of gold’s, reds, whites, and browns portrayed his summer vibe from the tropical country.

As the sun went down and many people ventured to the bars and pubs around strand, leaving Fashion Compassion one of the few brands to stay past 4.30 pm on a Friday afternoon. Although we were tired, we couldn’t resist checking out the Paraguay exhibition to end the day on a good note, and so we did, before heading out in to your typical rainy London night.
