Tübingen

During the first couple days of our trip, we visited a small town near Stuttgart called Tübingen. The majority of the day was spent on a walking tour of the city center area, and the French Quarter. In terms of sustainability, one point that stood out to me on the first half of the tour was the food storage cupboards in the town hall building. This system allows for people to drop off extra food they may have so that those who may be in need have a central and safe location to access it. I also found it fascinating that the style in the meeting room preserved or replicated at the very least, the original architecture of buildings in that town from prior centuries. Additionally, I thought the clock tower in the city center was really fascinating because the same clock has been in use since at least the 1400’s. This clock also displays the zodiac of the season, and the phase of the moon as well, which is very intriguing especially considering how much more zodiacs and astrology have become popular recently. Overall, Tübingen was amongst one of my favorite tours/activities on the trip. I especially enjoyed my first döner there too!
