SusTech 2030 — Meeting 0–24 March 2021

A great planning discussion at the first SusTech 2030 event.

Apologies to those who tried to join via Eventbrite and weren’t able to. Hopefully will work better next time!

We agreed that with such a broad topic we will need to focus our discussions, but for the moment let’s build up and audience and range of speakers.

We confirmed we want to ensure we look beyond the very carbon-centric concerns of the UK and Europe to include the full range of land, air and water issues at this time.

Making the most of the pandemic-enforced lockdown we’ll work hard to get some international engagement before countries open up again and no-one will voluntarily return to Zoom calls. As such we’re going to push fast on the first round of online talks.

Ideas included a UK-focused speaker talking about ‘open energy’ to allow consumers to select more easily the most sustainable energy suppliers. Other ideas including how solar panels can be set up to support entire villages, as well as the topic of more sustainable food.

Next event

To maintain moment we will meet again on Tuesday 6 April. We look forward to lots of…
