(Cherish your Personal Resourcefulness)

We all have strength within. We may not always see it or feel it, but it’s there. We can often recognise it in others, but struggle when it comes to ourselves. Hopefully, over time we can all learn to love and accept ourselves more and embrace our strengths, abilities and potential.

The YMA 5 Cs of strength are CHARACTER, COMPETENCY, COMPASSION, COURAGE and CONVICTION.

Who you are as a person matters. As do your skills, knowledge and understanding. Add this to your consideration for others, your bravery and your faith/beliefs, and you have collection of competencies that can help yourself and others.

The 4Ps are: PASSION, POWER, PRINCIPLES and PURPOSE.

When passion meets work great things can happen. And, although we may not have the power to control/influence all things, we can still affect change and shape aspects of our lives and the world around us, as we always have our principles. We may not always apply our principles, but we have them and can use them to influence change on an individual, cultural and societal level. Especially, when we have a purpose in mind.

The 3 Rs are: RESILIENCE, READINESS and REFLECTION.

Our ability to adapt well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy and loss involves behaviours, thoughts and actions that can be learned by anyone. In addition to our resilience, our readiness can help us to accept change, embrace our strengths, abilities and potential and set realistic goals. And, our ability to reflect on our choices, chances and changes can enrich our learning, and improve our future, personal and professional, growth.

As always, this is just my own thoughts, feelings and limited knowledge on the subject, so please feel free to offer any suggestions or feedback that you may have. You Matter Always is focused on partnership, participation and peer learning, because we can learn so much from each other if we take the time to listen.
