2015 : Pilot
Startup Village Collective started with a pilot batch of 20 student teams in 2015. When we started the pilot batch we had no idea how a digital platform for startup would work in India. We had pioneered the art of building physical incubators which went on win the best incubator award by the entrepreneur magazine.
With Vishnu Gopal as the batch co-ordinator and Sanjay Vijayakumar as the coach, we set off on a journey to build India’s first digital platform for student startups.
The pilot batch had an amazing experience and learnt things which were not taught in colleges. Students got an exposure to the real world and how startup Industry works.
2 Years Later
We completed three batches of student teams. We introduced a paid model for the 3rd batch with scholarships from Paytm and KSUM.
Our Collective has grown significantly big and we added a lot of valuable content on the platform which received amazing feedback from students. We on boarded many industry partners who believed in our mission. Especially Girish Mathrubootham’s Freshworks partnered with SV.CO to run the School of SaaS and helped us to host the ALPHA Launch (event to launch alpha prototypes) at Freshworks HQ in chennai.

We had around 33 founders visiting Silicon Valley in June 2017 for a week. SV.CO curated an immersive startup experience for better exposure and learning.

- Resources : We are very happy to see 22,180 downloads of our resources on www.sv.co/library. These resources are for free to any early stage startup.
- Community: SV.CO Public Slack is an awesome place to connect with student developers and SV.CO team. We have achieved a whooping milestone of 50,314 conversations on slack. Join our public slack here https://www.sv.co/about/slack
- Reach: The digital platform helped us scale and we are adding value to students from 14 states of India which is a very proud moment for us. We wish to reach out to every pin code in India and help students to build startups.
