A picture is worth a thousand words. A GIF is worth a thousand pictures. A video is worth a thousand GIFs.

A good quote is worth a thousand words. A good meme is worth a thousand PJs.

So nothing profound or insightful today — it’s a Sunday — just thought I would share some of my favourite memes / funny infographics. And try to create a story out of it.

(It’s a very unique type of communication — kind of a secret code, these memes — I wonder how future generations will look at this format and judge / admire us for taking literature to such extremes!)

At least for 2020, memes are an (almost) universal way of connecting with millenials. Here are few of my top picks that I could find on my device / the internet (in no particular order).

#1 Remember when Home Alone was a movie, and not our reality?
#2 Dense-ity of population is (almost always) proportional to density of population
#3 Thanos would have preferred this form of genocide — but more random, dispassionate, fair to rich and poor alike. Some animals are more equal than others sadly. (Privileged person typing here who can afford to sit at home)
#4 The air is so much clearer now that I can see dinosaurs when I rewind my clock

We’ll go international for a while before we come back to Swades.

#5 Not everyone can afford to stay at home
#6 Who used to say ‘Made in China’ products don’t last long?
#7 COVID-19 will definitely strike Americans near the ‘Statue of Liberty’ first
#8 Common sense is so 20th century
#9 Charity without marketing doesn’t add to the brand recall, top line, bottom line or top-of-mind-awareness
#10 Also multi-billion dollar corporations and governments — instead of opening our war chests and taking care of employees and citizens, why not ask the public to donate to the poor?

And back to India / desi memes.

#11 Degree to photoshop karke bhi milti hai — why educate and learn science?
#12 People without income are ‘non-essential’, say the ones sitting at home and ordering food — thinking they’re saving the world (refer to #10 again)
#13 (Mumbai special) “Marin” pan “Marine” drive war firil
#14 Taare Zameen par: Every child is special | COVID-19: Every ‘adult’ is special
If only COVID was not so highly infectious, the global IQ would have increased in 2020
