One Quote

“I ask not for a lighter burden, but for broader shoulders” ~ Jewish Proverb

Don’t wish it were easier — wish you were better. The typical thing told to most of the males throughout their lives. Yes, there are a lot of issues for the other sex (‘fairer’? Seriously!) as well. But we’re constantly told as kids to accept the status quo, that this is the way it’s meant to be, and that ‘society’ expects you to behave in a so-and-so way.

We’ve effeminated / emasculated certain traits and then complain about ‘toxic masculinity’. It’s okay to be more than a colour, it’s okay to be have traits on both sides of the below chart. What is not okay, is to perpetrate the injustices / closed-mind thinking and pass it on to coming generations.

One Song

One of my favourite movies. Farhan + Hrithik is a magic combo almost always. :)

Swades and Lakshya both released in 2004. And bombed at the box office.
Dhoom and Main Hoon Na released in 2004. Both were blockbusters.

Let’s stop blaming the filmmakers — we as an audience have rejected masterpieces.

The transition in this movie of a good-for-nothing young adult into a purpose, aim-in-life army man — I am still waiting for that cinematic moment when I realise this is why I was born. But, I guess, that happens only in movies. :) Live long enough, and nihilism awaits.

“Life is like getting shot out of a cannon. You don’t know why you were launched, and all you know for certain is that eventually you’re going to land. You can move and squirm and change which way you’re going, but everybody has to go in the same general direction. Everybody hits obstacles on their trajectory through life. Some bust right through the obstacles. Others, even those close to you, come to a stop early. What you do on your flight is up to you, but in the end you hit the ground just as hard as everybody else.”

One movie scene

Reddit, you beauty.

-> After Bruce calls Alfred, in both scenes Bruce thinks that the tragedy was his fault and Alfred has to comfort him.

-> As a child, Alfred does his absolute best to try and get the guilt off young Bruce immediately. As an adult, Alfred basically tells him well, what the hell did you think was going to happen when you spat on the face of criminals?
(This is what life is I feel at the end — growing up, owning up our choices and understanding that life may not be fair, but it’s indifferent to our needs and desires)

-> The colouring is done so well. The first scene is so bright and uplifting, as in this isn’t the end for you, Master Bruce, this is the beginning and you will have me by your side. The second scene: blue, dark, cold… I’m sorry, Master Wayne, but there is nothing I can do, you are truly alone right now.

If you can or wish to, donate for India’s fight against COVID-19

A large number of migrant workers in the country are on the walk — to reach back to their homes & require support in terms of food & transportation. The PGP Batch 2013–15 of IIM Bangalore resonates deeply with the sufferings of our fellow Human beings & have collectively come together to offer their bit in transporting stranded citizens. These situations are unforeseen for all of us & can only be tackled collectively.

Project Mumbai is at the forefront of the pandemic serving over 2.2 million meals to the needy, set up vans for women constables, donated PPE kits to hospitals, launched a mental counselling toll free number & are spearheading efforts to transport individuals who want to go to their homes. We urge all batches of our school as well as the entire IIM fraternity to contribute to organisations of their choice in elevating the sufferings of fellow human beings.

Donate now and help raise maximum funds to help everyone in need!
