Released in 2012 — besides having a great title, this is a beautiful slice of synthwave or synthpop. It also happens to contain one of the best electronic pop songs of the last six years or more.

Information snatched from elsewhere about the web tells us:

“Olivaw — refers to a young northern musician, Maksim Krapivin, who lives in Arkhangelsk. More than 600 miles to the north of Moscow, this city is perched upon the edge of terra firma in ways that justify any “angelic” wordplay. Not only does the ancient port form a long, lonely ribbon across Russia’s northern coastline; the winter weather also does its best to erase Arkhangelsk from view. Physicality has a tenuous presence, at best.”

Uplifting and bright — you can listen to the whole album on Olivaw’s soundcloud here

Should you decide to support the artist in the hope that they make more lovely things from air. It is also available at name your price here

It comes highly recommended.

Elsewhere, you can find Olivwa on Bandcamp — as we far as we can see, most of his releases are name your price.
This includes the deeply pretty ‘I know you’re there’.

The amazingly titled ‘Dance like Kevin Spacey’

And his latest dreamy throwback to new wave ‘The Stolen Car’

Here is Olivaw’s Bandcamp

And his Soundcloud

This was originally published quite some time ago, Olivaw has been busy — here’s two tracks from his newest release which we’ll be covering later -
