Welcome to the Swarm Newsletter for February 24, 2018.
Over the last two weeks, we have been thrilled to see continued sign ups for our alpha, and consistent support from the community on Twitter and elsewhere online. We have always prioritized technology & community. Because of this, Swarm’s SRC-20 is the first and only security token standard live on the blockchain. As we continue full speed on product development and deployment, we have also started to dial up our marketing & PR efforts.
Next week we’ll release version 0.7 of the Swarm Asset Management Network, and we will launch a broad marketing campaign focused on awareness and adoption of Swarm, the SWM token, and the live investment opportunities already on the network. Prepare for March Madness!
From the Bay to LA
On Wednesday, February 15th, Swarm represented at the d10e Silicon Valley Conference. CIO Timo Lehes was a featured speaker, leading into the Swarm-sponsored Networking Luncheon. Catch a video of Timo’s talk here.
In sunny Los Angeles on Saturday, February 17th, Chris Eberle spoke on a panel at the UCLA Blockchain Lab’s Cyber Days 2018 Weekend at UCLA, entitled “Post-2008: How Blockchain in Real Estate Can Prevent the Next Economic Meltdown.” The focus of the event was on fostering economic and educational progress in the realms of cybersecurity, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain.
Swarm made a presence alongside fellow blockchain projects like Tezos, EOS, and Dash.
Product Updates
On Wednesday, February 28th, v0.7 of the Swarm Asset Management Network will roll out with new features:
1. The Liquid Democracy Voting Module (LDVM) goes in effect, with 2 surveys live for SWM token holders. Stay tuned for our blog post on Monday, February 26th detailing how to participate.
2. The SWM Wallet feature will be enabled on the platform. Transfer, invest, and participate in the LDVM with SWM.
3. Launch Week Airdrop — 100 SWM Tokens will be airdropped to all users who registered on the platform before midnight, February 4th, and who successfully complete KYC verification by March 18th. If you signed up during that window, and have already completed KYC, you don’t need to do anything further to receive your airdrop next week.
