What comes in our mind after hearing pubic hair removal? Razor?
Which is a temporary method of removing hair which is on and around the genital area. But wait, pubic hair removal is a lot more than that. Pubic hair is thick and long body hair present in the adult and adolescent age group of people. The hair is located on and around the sex organs. Pubic hair is present on the vulva in female and scrotum in the male. Pubic hair is considered to belong, thick, and coarser than the normal hair type which grows at the initial age of puberty. Pubic hair forms in response to the increasing levels of testosterone in both girls and boys, during puberty (the period during which adolescents reach sexual maturity and become capable of reproduction).

The body produces rising levels of the sex hormones, and in response to that, the skin of the genital area begins to produce thicker and rougher, often curlier hair. Pubic hair is of faster growth rate. The starting of pubic hair development is termed pubarche. Pubic hair and underarm hair vary in colour considerably from the hair of the scalp. In most people, it is darker but can also be lighter in some people. In most cases, it is most similar in colour to one’s eyebrows. Hair texture varies from tightly curled to entirely straight; Pubic hair patterns can differ based on race and ethnicity.

Sometimes, due to various reasons and improper hygiene, Pubic hair can get infected with pubic lice, also known as crab lice. Pubic lice infestation is found worldwide and occurs to anyone mostly common in adults. Pubic lice are usually spread through sexual contact.
Occasionally pubic lice may be spread by close personal contact or
unhygienic clothing, bed linens, and towels that have been used by an
infected person.
So grooming of pubic hair was introduced. Pubic hair removal is part of maintaining personal hygiene. But Pubic hair grooming has been associated with injury and infection too. It is estimated that 1out of 4 groomers have had at least one-lifetime injury due to pubic hair grooming. Grooming has also been associated with sexually transmitted diseases, such as genital warts, syphilis. Females commonly practise pubic hair removal. As it is to be removed especially of females in some cultures or norms as it is embarrassing and unaesthetic. In some cultures, pubic hair is considered erotic, whereas, in other cultures, pubic hair is associated with the genital area and is to be covered at all times.

There are two different styles for temporary pubic hair removal i,e.
either using razor or wax. Pubic hair removal using wax is bikini wax
There are other different styles of pubic hair modification which
includes:
1.) Triangle or American wax
2.) Landing strip or French wax
3.) Partial Brazilian wax

4.) Full Brazilian wax or “sphinx.”

Likewise, Laser hair removal is also practised by a minority of people for pubic hair removal permanently, but only 90% of the treatment is effective. If you undergo laser hair removal treatment, extra sensitive care is to be taken. Hence, these are some method of pubic hair removal. Pubic hair removal does not affect pregnancy, lactation, and menstruation. The method of pubic hair removal is risky as it may cause infection or injury depending upon the individual and the method he/she use. So it is to be done by either professional or done in the correct manner by themselves.

My personal view for pubic hair removal is: young people who practice removing pubic hair should be aware enough about the correct method and the correct product. They should not use the highly toxic chemical
as pubic hair lays on and around the sex organs and is highly sensitive.
Pubic hair removal does not mean to harm the body but is associated with maintaining personal hygiene, so a highly painful method depending on an individual should be avoided. Hence, pubic hair is to be trimmed from time to time to maintain the clean and order less genital area.
