SWATCHROOM is looking to fill our newly-created Interiors Division Lead role. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who is an established project manager and designer with a design/build background. This position will manage and lead the Interiors Division’s team of Designers and Design Associates. This role requires excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Interiors Division Lead will spend their time presenting to clients, conducting site walk-throughs, attending internal planning meetings + reviewing drawings or presentations, and mentoring/leading other team members. There is a high level of responsibility associated with this position, including the need for the Interiors Divisions Lead to push original and unique ideas and materials, meet ongoing deadlines, adhere to budgets, and supervise/ensure the production of deliverables.

DESIGN PHASE

· Develop unique and fresh design ideas, concepts, and visions

· Uphold a commitment to complete design documentation + flawless execution of SWATCHROOM designs

· Oversee the procurement of samples and pricing

· Build and track project cost sheets

· Assist Principal(s) in determining design strategy schedule

· Oversee cost sheet/feasibility studies for all projects

· Oversee final design presentation(s)

· Schedule internal reviews of presentations

· Oversee scope of work documentation, including bid cost sheets and spec sheets

· Manage the procurement process

· Manage client expectations and provide client with updates

· Provide clients + teammates regular status updates related to design phases

PRODUCTION PHASE

· Coordinate spec sheets for ordering and bid cost sheet

· Manage punch list and client deliverables

· Ensure success of client relationship through communication + professionalism

· Maintain project conceptual consistency throughout entirety of project

· Periodically travel to check in on status + quality control of domestic or international projects

OFFICE / ADMIN

· Actively manage + further continuing best practices of Interiors Department; Oversee design team’s continuing education

· Assist in interviews + hiring for Interiors related positions

· Coordinate breakdown, cataloging and organization of materials/schedule

· Oversee and maintain awareness of the design team’s task list(s)

· Co-Manage the SWATCHROOM intern program

The Division Lead in this role must:

· Be able to communicate verbally and in writing with people inside and outside the Company.

· Be able to prioritize workload and assist team with prioritizing their workload

· Develop and provide training to direct hires/teammates

· Have a strong understanding of materials and the build environment

· Be an expert in space planning

· Have experience with commercial, retail, and/or hospitality environments

· Have at least 5 years of managerial experience in the Interior Design industry.

· Master’s level in Interior Design/Interior Architecture (or equivalent combination of work experience and education).

Technical Skills:

· Adobe Software (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)

· AutoCad

· Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)

· Hand Sketching

· Google Sketch-Up (not required, but a plus)

· Revit (not required, but a plus)

· Makerware — 3d Printer (not required but a plus)
