Barcelona’s temperate climate and beautiful landscape make it the perfect place to do yoga outside.

#1: Nova Icaria Beach
A 15-minute walk from Barcelona’s most famous beach, Barceloneta, you can find a quieter stretch of sand: Platja de la Nova Icaria. Here you’ll find fewer people, fewer “cerveza” sellers, and more peace of mind.

#2 Bunkers del Carmel
One of the best lookout points Barcelona has to offer, this mountain top used to be the site of the city’s anti-aircraft equipment during the Spanish Civil War. Nowadays it is a peaceful park with hiking trails. Sit and meditate as you watch waves roll into the city’s harbors and beaches.

#3 Castelldefels
This beach is only a 20-minute train ride from the city center. Take the R2 to Platja de Castelldefels (not to be confused with the station called “Castelldefels”). Upon arrival, walk to the far end of the beach for mountain views and lots of space to practice your downward dog.

#4 The Sakya Tashi Ling Buddhist Monastery
If you’re up for a challenge, take a 6-hour hike from the town of Garraf to Sitges (both accessible by regional train from Barcelona’s city center). Along the way, you’ll run into a Buddhist Monastery where you can stop for a rest and some good stretching.

#5 Ciutadella Park
Ciutadella is one of Barcelona’s largest parks, located next to the neighborhood of El Born, in the Old City. It’s full of grassy fields, ponds, and fountains — you’re sure to find a good spot to get your zen on.
