Big news, everyone! We just upgraded our Claim feature to bring more awareness to the value of your physical movement!

Here’s what’s changed:

  • The community voted to start evaporating, or burning, $SWEAT from users who have not claimed for more than 30 days.
  • After the 30th day that you don’t claim, your $SWEAT will begin to evaporate, or be burned in the same order that you minted it. There will be one burn event per day to burn only the $SWEAT you earned for a given day exactly 30 days ago.

For example, if on April 18th, you haven’t claimed for 30 days, the $SWEAT (if any) you earned on March 18th will be burned. If you don’t claim on April 19th, the $SWEAT you earned on March 19th will be burned, and so on.

You’ll have 30 days to claim the remaining unclaimed $SWEAT that hasn’t yet been burned.

  • If you’re still inactive for a total of 60 days, you’ll stop minting $SWEAT, and your Unclaimed Balance will show as 0 $SWEAT.

Don’t worry, though! To start minting $SWEAT again, just open the Sweat Wallet app.

You’ll start minting in the background — just make sure you actually claim it!

What does it mean for you?

Claiming is more than keeping the tokenomics clean; it’s about engaging you, the user.

One of the main reasons for building the Claim feature is around your physical health. We’ve found that users who regularly open the app are in tune with their earnings, and the benefits of $SWEAT.

Through our studies, active users walk on average 20% more than inactive users, where an “active user” is simply defined as one who has opened Sweat Wallet in the last 30 days

So, not only does it prove that Sweat Economy is making the world more healthy, but it means you should actively use Sweatcoin app to validate your movement and Sweat Wallet to track your $SWEAT earnings and manage your crypto.

What does it mean for the community?

Evaporating or burning unclaimed $SWEAT is a big deal.

  • Clean economy — in just 4 weeks since launching claim feature, over 19.34 Million $SWEAT have gone unclaimed. This is a significant amount of $SWEAT that is now considered to be a “dead emission,” inflating the supply without benefiting the ecosystem.
  • Sweat Wallet stays sustainable — If we were to store all of that unused $SWEAT from inactive user accounts, we’d be spending over $20K per month in storage fees — just for $SWEAT that’s never touched. We’re here to create The Movement Economy by providing one of the fastest-growing consumer dApps on the market, and that means we have to keep emissions sustainable.
