US $SWEAT and Sweat Wallet launch
On September 12th, $SWEAT and Sweat Wallet will be available to US users!
September 12th, 2023 marks the one year anniversary of the launch of $SWEAT. On this date, US residents will be able to use the Sweat Wallet to receive their allocations of $SWEAT in proportion to their current Sweatcoin holdings, and start earning more tokens for their steps right away.
Claim your $SWEAT
US residents will be able to claim an amount in proportion to their balance had they participated in the TGE. This means that as we are using tokens already available, there will be zero impact on circulating supply. How so?
At the TGE on September 12th 2022, the Foundation minted enough $SWEAT to match all the sweatcoins ever minted. This enabled an offer for Sweatcoin users to match their sweatcoins with $SWEAT.
Not all of that $SWEAT was claimed, which will be used in this allocation.
Why not a 1:1 claim? Well, the regulatory situation meant that we could not offer this 1:1 in September 2022, and it would not be fair to the rest of the ecosystem to offer it now, given that US users have had one more year — and a higher daily earning limit — to increase their sweatcoin holdings. Furthermore, it would also create a market distortion, as it is now almost 3X harder to mint $SWEAT than it was just six months ago.
Finally, your and our vision that your steps should be rewarded with a true blockchain-based currency will materialise. We know that many US residents have stopped using the app as a result of not earning $SWEAT.
