SWIPE Monthly Update, April 2019
Hey everyone in our SWIPE Community! As most of you know, we are operating in stealth mode as we were settling our plans for our token sale as well as rigorously testing our product with companies in Indonesia and around the region. We want to reassure you that we still have been actively speaking to new investors, acquiring new businesses to adopt our technology and attending networking events to push our vision. With every passing week, we are closer to realizing our goals.
13th — 14th April: Community meetup in Makassar, Indonesia
The SWIPE team traveled East to the city of Makassar to speak to the local blockchain community leaders. Blockchain technology is something that many Indonesians are interested in because it serves a very important purpose. It allows those who are unbanked to gain access to digital forms of payment instead of having to solely rely on cash.
Andrew our CTO gave a presentation of what SWIPE is all about to these community leaders and they were excited about how SWIPE’s technology in empowering users to take charge of their own data. Users who are using apps that are connected to the SWIPE ecosystem will be able to control who gains access it which also means that users will be able to earn rewards in exchange for their data, which is a huge deal for Indonesian users!
23rd April: Community meetup in Medan, Indonesia
This time, the SWIPE team traveled north from Jakarta to Medan, the capital of Indonesia’s North Sumatra province. Slowly but surely, we aim to travel to all the various cities around Indonesia and there is a lot of ground to cover! Indonesia is the world’s 3rd largest populated country and focusing on a country with so much use case and desire for blockchain technology is highly beneficial to us as a company. Many local businesses are also looking at how they are able to bring this new economy to the people of Indonesia.
We met with the community leaders of Medan and learned about how locals view cryptocurrencies and they are still very excited at the potential it brings. Although most of the content about blockchain technology online is in English, it really helps that Andrew our CTO is Indonesian and can very eloquently explain our product in Bahasa Indonesia in a way that can be understood by the masses.
2nd May: Block Jakarta 2019
Block Jakarta is one of the largest Blockchain conferences in Jakarta and it brought together the movers and shakers of the Blockchain scene from all over Indonesia. It was a one day event with great topics such as a panel discussion about Government Outlook on Blockchain & Regulatory Framework. The panelist were highly qualified in their respective fields and it gave us a lot of insights to the views of the Indonesian government regarding cryptocurrencies. The 3 panelist were:

Nyoman Sastra — MBus, CFE, CAMS, Financial Forensic Researcher
I Made Wisnu Wardhana — Financial Crime Analyst
SWIPE is proud to be part of such an amazing event and we made a lot of new friends and caught up with many old ones. The blockchain scene in Indonesia is very vibrant and we are confident it will only get stronger as people become more aware of it and it’s use cases become more apparent.
We are still in the midst of rigorously testing our product with our partners in real world scenarios and things are looking positive. Once we are confident that our product is rigid enough for mainstream adoption, we will release more information about our tokens.
