Alina was attracted to investing in the stock exchange from her early years at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies where she pursued her higher education in the technical (Cybernetics and Economic Informatics) and the financial fields (Finance and Banking).
She began trading with her own limited financial resources in different markets right after University. Because of the small amount of investment she could make, the accounts in her possession had restrictive access to information and functionality. This lead to endless frustration and disappointment. Alina always wondered why people with the most pecuniary need could not benefit from the same advice and support that is offered to wealthy individuals and corporations. It occurred to her, then, that the ideal would be to have equal rights for all who wish to invest, even if they can only dispose of small amounts of money. After all, Alina believes, “the ocean is made out of small drops of water.”
After working for four years in Telecommunication and Software Development sectors, Alina decided to switch to Banking to broaden her professional scope. Already living in Switzerland, Private Banking was an obvious path.
Almost eight years of working in Private Banking (back-office IT) made her gradually understand that,“ the banking industry, as it is defined today, has to change because: it is not using the most advanced technologies that are available, it does not answer the clients’ needs and it does not professionally reward the employees or the participants. I could see everywhere around me that a huge leap needs to be made in this domain in order to adapt to the new era of technological advance that we are living today.”
When asked what attracted her to SwissBorg she replies quickly and with the confidence of someone who has pondered the question before, “when I first heard and read about SwissBorg and their idea for a Wealth Management revolution, it matched perfectly my vision of the future: empowering everybody that wants to actively manage their wealth (independent of the size of the wealth) and giving them a voice (swarm intelligence and referendums), using the most advanced technology that exists today (the blockchain) and intellectually, financially and socially rewarding all the participants: employees, community members & partners.”
Witnessing the SwissBorg community (ICO participants) grow bigger and stronger with members mutually supporting and driving themselves towards this new vision, “that is opening its arms for us,” Alina realized there are many skills and insights that she could bring to SwissBorg from her years of professional and investing experience. Alina hopes to help facilitate communication between the SwissBorg team and the community they serve, “ the biggest challenge, for me, will be to ease the communication flow between the hard working team at SwissBorg and the awesome community that is already a force in itself.”
A professional with a clear vision Alina brings her zest for community building and her expertise in communication to help SwissBorg pave the way for a future of finance that is truly participatory, decentralized and transparent.
