Meet Laureline David: SwissBorg’s Security Engineer
Laureline David has been dismantling electronic devices since she was able to hold a screwdriver. She started engaging in computer programming in the late nineties when she was only around eight years old. Her childhood interests led to a bachelors in Computer/Information Security from the Haute Ecole d’Ingenierie et de Gestion du Canton de Vaud.
Unlike most of her classmates, Laureline never attended High School but left secondary school to do a Certificat Fédéral de Capacité, which is a regulated form of apprenticeship in Information Technology, followed by a Diplome specializing in Application Development.
When SwissBorg’s CTO, Nicolas Remond, contacted her through one of his friends with whom Laureline had worked on her thesis she was happy at the prospect of tackling the new challenges in the world of blockchain technology.
At SwissBorg she works with other engineers in Lausanne to build the Investment App. Laureline’s work is crucial because she works both on the system’s security and as a programmer on the backend of the App.
An avid reader and gamer, Laureline finds working at a pioneering fintech on the blockchain both challenging and rewarding. When asked what she likes about working in this new space she answers, “ Nothing is true, everything is permitted.”
