Meet Mariem Farhat: Junior Crypto Analyst at SwissBorg
Meet the SwissBorg Team
Mariem Farhat joins SwissBorg, as a Crypto Analyst working with our investment team. With a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Lausanne’s Faculty of Business and Economics, Mariem is, currently, in her last year of studies at the world-renowned University, for her Master’s in Finance. SwissBorg, Mariem believes, is the perfect place to complete her thesis,“ The Impact of Blockchain and New Technologies on Wealth Management.”
Never being very eager to work at a traditional bank, Mariem wished to work at a young company with a start-up culture. In SwissBorg she found the right company to put to use her spirit of innovation and her analytical mind. Mariem appreciates the cool laid back work culture where self-starters are encouraged, given a greater opportunity to undertake a big task, allowed to participate and make an impact on all levels of decision-making.
Born in Tunisia to Tunisian parents Mariem is fluent in Arabic, French, and English and is studying Russian. Along with her multicultural background and strong analytical skills, Mariem brings to SwissBorg her passion for finance, entrepreneurship, and human interaction.
Ever since landing in Lausanne to pursue her studies, Mariem has been committed to community building activities and social engagement. She was the treasurer and active member of the Erasmus Student Network, where she worked with many other students from all over Europe. She, also, was a very active and impactful member of the Tunisian Students in Switzerland an association that puts successful Tunisian immigrants in contact with newly arrived students to provide the latter with mentorship and guidance. Here she learned the valuable lesson of how to network in order to give back to the community.
On her summer breaks, back home in Tunisia, she strove to improve her communication and interpersonal skills by taking summer jobs in the field of marketing. For example, she was the logistics coordinator for the art & music festival: Ephémère. A job that, besides being a lot of fun, taught her much about collaborative work with artists, organizers, and sponsors.
With a solid knowledge of programming, Python and Matlab Mariem Farhat’s job at SwissBorg is to work with the investment team. She will analyze the market and provide the most accurate projections. The objective of her internship is to create a cryptocurrency analysis and research platform designed to offer transparent information with different metrics on each cryptocurrency in order to facilitate investment decisions. Well versed in financial markets, Mariem has engaged extensively in research for portfolio allocations in her work. She wants to use and enhance her analytical skills while helping SwissBorg with the development of our investment platform.
Mariem is an outgoing person with a positive, can-do outlook, she brings not just her academic and analytical skills but her energy and enthusiasm to SwissBorg. The young analyst believes that traditional finance will die soon under the weight of new technologies and is excited about being at the forefront of that disruption and change. Mariem is eager to use her skills to help SwissBorg bridge the on-chain and off-chain worlds of finance to shape a new era of wealth management.
