A label that has not failed to produce sumptuous, soulful house that slides the groove meter up to eleven, Newtown Recordings has once again delivered a release that is consistent with the musical world view of label owner Dave Anthony.

The label, having only been in existence for a short time, is obviously looking to build on recent collaborations with vocalists Sheree Hicks, Kathy Brown & Lisa Millet and ‘Greater Love’ meets all the expectations that the past pedigree has indicated they would follow. This time they chose to showcase the sultry vocals of Andrea Love while UK Producer Yooks has put together a track that really tugs at the soulful heart strings while allowing you to shake those hips that your momma gave you.

The vocals reflect a sense of true musical awareness as they weave sensitively throughout the first two mixes; lending that certain integrity that only Andrea Love can bring to a track. The track has also been remixed by Dave Anthony himself with the second offering being the original collaboration between Yooks and Love.

The two mixes are fairly similar with the original displaying a funkier bass and a tinkling of the ivories that go on a bit of a lilting journey. I really can’t pick which one I would prefer as they are both excellent. There is also an instrumental mix which is a great track on its own but why you would deny yourself the glories of an Andrea Love vocal is beyond me. Stick it in your crate and watch the dance floor vibe.

Crate Rating: Proper
