Out on Souluxe, Romy Black brings you another undeniable slice of Jackin’ House infused with a liberal dusting of shuddering bass and foot tapping soul. This release will feature on high rotation in many DJ’s creates as there is enough diversity to appeal to all and sundry. It has already appeared in some of the highest rated DJ’s top tens and also in Traxsource’s Weekend Weapons with expectations high that this trend will continue.

There are five mixes here which means that you can work this release from the terrace to the main room. In my mind the three that work best are the Original mix, the Rubber People mix and the Tony Garcia mix. The remaining two mixes (tech house from Colorjaxx and another from Black) are great in their own right but it is the thumping bass of the main room mixes and the space and generosity afforded in the Garcia mix that really drew me in. The lilting vocal is enough to get the hands waving and the feet moving with the drops giving the track enough ‘oomph’ to achieve lift-off.

Having very few commercial vehicles to allow people access to original work, producers need to release tracks that are both familiar and unique at the same time. Black achieves this with ‘You in Trouble’ and it is another tour de force from the Sydney Producer.

Jay-B Rating: Proper 😉
