I’ve finally cracked the code to being a productive entrepreneur. You wear so many hats as an entrepreneur. Which means you have a lot of stuff that needs to get done. You have to call this person, email that person, design this thing, develop that thing, etc. I love it, but I have found it hard to concentrate on all the things that need to get done. Being productive isn’t science, it’s just being a bit more organized. When I have a lot on my plate, I tend to do a little of everything but end up not finishing anything. Sound familiar?

My Breakthrough.

I’m currently in the process of launching a new business. If you’re curious, it’s a recovery shot to help those that may have had a little too much to drink. I was overwhelmed by all the tasks that needed to get done. I was creating todo lists on spreadsheets that I never looked at again. I even tried writing everything done on paper and crossed it off when I finished. I love that feeling of crossing a task off a list. But, guess what? I would often misplace the paper. I decide to download a task manager. I went with Wunderlist. I’ve used it in the past and liked how easy it was to navigate. The next challenge was getting my whole team to use it. Just adding tasks on the app wasn’t good enough. I’d still find myself getting overwhelmed. I sat down one night and strategized the perfect method to get things done. What I came up with was a method that has helped me get 10X more work done.

Follow these steps to increase your productivity.

1st step) I make a list of everything that I need to get done.

2nd step) I create a timeline of when things need to get done.

3rd step) I then focus on the most pressing task.

4th step) I always research what exactly I need to do to complete the project.

5th step) I create a document and add all my research to it.

EXAMPLE

6th step) I create tasks for the project.

7th step) I add each task to Wunderlist.

EXAMPLE

8th step) I add a due date for each task.

9th step) I complete each task I assigned for that day.

10th step) As soon as I complete a task I check it off in the app.

11th step) I will rearrange my tasks each night or in the mornings.

*Note sometimes things come up. I often add more tasks to my list as I am working. If you’re not able to complete a task on the due date you set, move it around. Once you finish a project, move on to the next one and follow the same steps.

Why is this effective?

You’ll be more organized and feel more accomplished. Larger projects will be broken down into bite-sized chunks. Projects will be 100% complete when ready to launch or when there is a deadline. I have been crushing it! Tweak it and make it your own. I hope this helps anyone struggling to be more productive. Please share!
