As of today I am 25 years old, Time flies and mine’s is a first class.

Looking back at two decades and half of my life I have some few experiences to share with you. I hope you learn from my life lessons.

1) Life’s a marathon, not a sprint.

A sprint tests your speed, a marathon tests your mental strength, perseverance and endurance.

2) Relationship: Developing a great network is worth more than money.

Money is good but you should never make money at the expense of having a great relationship. Money can never buy a great relationship whether it is with your girl/boyfriend, mum/dad, your friends, your boss or anybody.

You may find it amusing that I get most of my jobs through great networks I nurtured over the years. Connect with people, connect with life!

Make money also make Great relationships

3)A bad relationship is worse than not having a good one.

While relationships are more important than money, you should also be weary of some bad relationships, they are worse than not having a good relationship. They can mess up your view of what relationships should be like.

4) La familia es todo (Family is all).

No matter how a family member pisses you off they still remain family. When you loose all that you have and you have nothing else, family would stick no matter what. Come rain come shine!

5) Be a wo(man) of your word!

When you give people your word make sure you keep it. It is a very honorable thing to do and you are going to earn their respect by doing so. To be a Man/Woman is about taking responsibilities, Remember that word “Responsibilities”

6) Get someone that gives a shit about your dreams!

When you find that one person that cares about your dream and believes and supports you. There is no limit.

7) Get a mentor.

Seek for someone that you admire so much, talk to them, ask for advice, earn their trust and remain Loyal because mentor’s will always strengthen you to fly past where they stopped. Sounds amazing? You need to remain Loyal.

I met my first investor (Kunle Olaifa) at the cchub through a mentor (Bosun Tijani).

Kunle Olaifa opened a door of opportunities for us and we leveraged on his network.

8) Build something that you love.

Is there something that you love but can’t find it or you think it can be better build it. Give people to use, solve a problem.

9) Explore.

Solve a problem, get a kiss, fall in Love, fall out of love, Make someone smile, have sex (preferably get married first) and always protect yourself.

10)Help People.

I am where I am today because of people that have helped me when they had the opportunity. Believe it, a lot of people have allowed me to use their ladder in countless times. Sow a seed in someone’s life. Invest in people today!

11) Never despise days of little beginning.

My First startup with Kene Udeze, Ayoola Ajebeku and David Redemi. We started with just around N2,500 and made some hundred of thousands.

Second Startup started with around NGN10,000 — — made a few bucks

Third startup with Dele Bakare was NGN6,000 — — — Made some few millions before we failed.

12) Fail.

I actually failed in my three startups and I learn a lot from running this companies, a lot that I would ever learn in business school. “If you must fail, fail forward”

13)Be known for something.

14) Staying in love is a conscious effort.

You have to accept that there would be differences, they would add weight, they would look unattractive at some point. You just need someone that would stick with you through the winter days.

15) Get out of your parent’s house even if you are the one paying the bills.

Stock up privacy for yourself and plan for your future.

16)Respect is not Fear.

Respect people but you should never be afraid of them. Never fear anyone, not even your fears.

17)Believe in something.

I believe in God. It be awesome if you put your faith in him too. God has brought me this far and He is still taking me higher.

18)Never Loose Hope.

I was once a paper boy, earning ~NGN 200 per day

I was once a waiter, earning ~ NGN500 per day.

I was once a mechanic, earning ~NGN 500–1000 per day.

I knew what I wanted and I never gave up.

Tough times never last but tough people do!

19)Don’t do drugs!

Drugs messes you up and everything else. You may think it’s cool now but later you would regret it. Taking drugs is like boarding a sinking ship. Don’t fall a victim!

20)Stay Humble

Remember, your finish line could be someone else starting point. Quit basking in self-glory.

21)Learn when to say NO.

When you don’t like something just say it! Don’t suffer in silence. If you are still suffering in silence. Quit it, and speak up

22)Life is not Fair.

We all have heard this a lot that “Life Ain’t Fair”. Yes, it is not fair but be kind to people because you don’t know the battle they are fighting privately.

23)Time

Time is a luxury you can’t afford. Never let anyone waste your time as you can never get back the time wasted. Do what you have to do when you have the time to do so.

One day your life will flash before your eyes, make sure it is worth watching

24) Set Goals and never lose focus on them!

Set goals and never lose FOCUS!

25)Saving

The earlier you start saving for rainy days the better for you.

You could open up different bank accounts just for saving purpose, make sure you are not using ATM cards or Online Transfers with the accounts. Once you receive any money try to save at least 35 percent first before spending. You can always withdraw in case of emergency.
