Running a business isn’t easy, fall 2 times, get up 3
Most of us don’t have the benefit of being 3-time entrepreneurs. We started from scratch and this is our first foray stepping into the world of business.
No matter the stage you’re at now, running a business is tough.
We’ve made mistakes and cried over spilt milk, but we’re still standing and we’re still trying to improve.
It took me years to figure out how to better run my business and how to make better decisions.
These are the 3 areas that are still a constant struggle for me.
1. Over-Indexing on Economic Metrics
When I was starting, I was bootstrapped, cash strapped, time-strapped, and stretched in all directions.
My bottom line and top line numbers are always top of mind when starting out. A constant question I had was, “Can I afford to keep doing this?”.
When making a decision, I leaned towards evaluating if it was a good or bad decision based on economic metrics (basically, money).
