Link-building is tedious but necessary to win the SEO game.

When I started in marketing, I thought building links was simple and straightforward — just hyperlink some text and you’re done.

But I soon realized it’s much more complex than that.

You will find out the elaborate methods in this article.

But first, this is for those who have had at least a basic understanding of link-building and SEO.

For those who are not, link-building is the art and science of having other sources (websites, SoMe, etc.) pointed to your web pages. This serves as a signal to search engines such as Google that your website is valuable, thus increasing your visibility on the internet.

With that in mind, here are 4 link-building strategies that I’m focusing on to rank higher on search engines. The right way.

1. Quality Over Quantity: It’s Not Just a Number Game Anymore

There used to be the case that the quantity of links did matter a great deal.

This is so-called link spamming.
