Freelancing has its pros and cons. On the one hand, it offers a flexible schedule, the freedom to work from anywhere in the world, and employee independence because you are your own boss. It also allows you to choose your own clients, which is often easier said than done.

The downside of freelancing is working with nightmare clients that you chose. If you’re anything like I was in 2019, you probably don’t know how to scope out a bad client until you’re stuck with them. My lack of experience was evident. I was just happy anyone wanted to work with me at all.

Two years and multiple fiascos later, I created a system of questions to weed out bad clients with one phone call. Now, I know exactly which type of clients to avoid.
