9 Reasons Why You Must Learn to Code Right Now

Let me confess again: I can’t code sh#t, and it is hurting my career. If you want to hear my professional advice, learn it now, and learn it fast.

Why might you ask? The tl;dr answer is: Coding simplifies and automatizes your daily tasks. Tasks, which are repetitive and dull, can be done in a few seconds if you know how to code.

As an engineering manager, I need to use different software and calculation templates in my day to day work. I also need to keep a list of all the documents and calculations, which I (or any of my team) issued. We can issue each of these templates and document them in the list manually, or we can code this process, which we use weekly at least.

I’m relatively good at using common Excel functions. However, when it comes to using VBA in Excel — I quit. I am not even acquainted with VBA although it is considered to be one of the simplest programming languages out there. I opt to record my macros in Excel — and believe it or not, it is a thing —…
