The next round of Democratic Party Presidential Debates starts Tuesday night and ‘healthcare’ will be a key topic.

The extreme right-wing has used all kinds of arguments against socialized medicine. I refer to these people as extremist because every other advanced economy has a higher degree of socialized medicine than the US. All of these other nations have universal coverage for their populations. The cost-benefit analysis in this story proves that socialized medicine is less expensive than our current healthcare system. The healthcare industry is the only party benefiting from America not moving to a more socialist healthcare system. The American patients/taxpayers lose by our not adopting a more socialist system.

It is important to realize that all of the G7 Countries including the US have mixed socialist/private enterprise healthcare systems. America has socialized medicine in the form of the VA healthcare system, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act (ACA or Obamacare) subsidies. The G7 countries are described by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as the world’s seven largest advanced economies. Of these G7 Countries, America has the least socialism within its system whereas the UK has the most socialism within its system.
