So you’ve been convinced enough to become a creator and have been creating content and thriving to build a business out of it. Building an audience and bringing 1000 true fans to pay you for a lifetime are amazing concepts, but it isn’t as easy as it sounds.

First things first, these points are valid, particularly for creator-influencers and not just influencers. It isn’t for every creator. If you provide value that aims to change your consumer’s life, go ahead.

Is there even a difference?

You most probably know about the concept of 1000 true fans by Kevin Kelly. If not, you can read it here.

That was 2008.

In 2020, Li Jin wrote an upgraded version of the same thing, called 100 true fans. And it was acknowledged by many.

The 1000 true fans model said that you just needed 1000 people to pay you $100, and $100,000 is enough to live a decent life in any part of the world.

But, Li Jin’s version takes it one level up. It says that if creators can have 100 people paying $1000, why not?
