Are You Too Invisible To Succeed?

This article is about me. But, maybe it is really about you.

Confession

I have grown somewhat detached from the big world and focus on ways that I can build my own little world. I love running — alone — and have two marathons under my belt. I trained to a 4th degree black belt in tae kwon do. I have a prolific unpublished poetry collection. I also have an Ivy League education and a Ph.D. in psychology.

I have always worked on developing mental stamina.

I have a long list of accomplishments that were made by late night study or practice sessions alone, and with little celebration. I share my accomplishments with a select few people. I mostly use my achievements to remind myself that I can do anything I put my mind to.

Maybe you, like me, learned at an early age the advantages to being unseen. Perhaps there was just too much emotional noise to be seen, or bad things happened when you were visible. You learned to be invisible to move through your environment, to feel safe or accepted. Invisibility became your super power.
