Some musicians are as distinguishable by the artwork associated with their music as they are by the sound or lyrics of their music. Before Andy Warhol created the cover for Velvet Underground & Nico nobody would have associated that band with the image of a banana. But they certainly do now.

And every time you see a prism with a beam of light shining through it you’re probably going to think of Pink Floyd, due to George Hardie’s artwork on their Dark Side of the Moon album.

These are both well-documented cases of albums that have had a strong impact on popular culture. But what about the art involved in the more underground music scenes? The music that motivates people to frantically pump their fists into thin air at 6AM, as if battling an invisible opponent, undulating their sweaty frames in unison to a beat within a dilapidated warehouse.

Eager to know more about this niche section of the art world I looked into some of the artists that live in that tiny space where UK underground house music and art crosses over.
