Businesses are often afraid of competition. They want barriers to entry to keep out competitors. This isn’t what they need to worry about.

My GF was looking to expand her cafe business and we talked to a potential partner in another city who warned us about all the local competition. Barriers to entry were low, so “everyone was opening a cafe”.
