I remember sitting in my living room a few days ago, watching the news about the devastating fires in Los Angeles.
The footage felt too painful to watch. Streets were engulfed in angry, red flames. Entire neighborhoods were reduced to ash.
Families lost their homes in an instant, and many also lost loved ones. It was a dark reminder of the Lahaina fires in Hawaii, where a beautiful coastal town turned into a scene of heartbreak.
This kind of tragedy unites us in sadness, no matter where we live or who we are.
Yet, in the midst of such horror, there were sparks of hope.
