EdSmart to be implemented across 900 schools in South Australia
The Department for Education South Australia has announced it will implement the Civica Education Suite (CES), which features EdSmart’s forms, process and workflow functionality, at over 900 sites, including pre-schools, primary schools, high schools and other educational institutions across South Australia.
Scott Bayliss, Chief Information Officer for The Department, said:
“We are excited about implementing a world class education management system, featuring EdSmart’s extensive capabilities, to provide a flexible, student centric solution for public schools across South Australia.
The Education Management System will be a powerful digital tool with a comprehensive suite of features to streamline and modernise school management, and support our teachers to provide individualised learning, assessment and reporting on student progress.
It will help us to improve student outcomes and reduce the administrative burden placed on teachers and early childhood workers.”
Fiona Boyd, CEO of EdSmart, welcomed the decision and the opportunity to service a community of around 185,000 students and 30,000 teachers and school administrators across South Australia.
“We are very happy to play a role in helping The Department achieve its educational outcomes,” she said.
“We’ve seen the impact of EdSmart in schools around the world, and we’re delighted to extend that impact to school communities throughout South Australia. Our work with Civica demonstrates the vibrancy of the Australian Edtech ecosystem.”
Simon Jones, Managing Director for Libraries and Education at Civica, said:
“We look forward to our journey with The Department where we can make a positive difference to students’ lives.
CES is a powerful schools management solution that can improve the education outcomes of students and families across South Australia.”
EdSmart Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer David Eedle said:
“Civica and EdSmart constantly innovate our technology platform in close consultation with our schools to better serve the needs of educators, administrators, students and parents/guardians and are excited to commence working with the department, its schools and preschools.”
