To become evident”, explains Winston Churchill, “that is what gives public visibility. One day”, he continues, “I rode along the FIRE LINE, while all the others were looking for a BUNKER. It may sound stupid, but when the game is real, and when you have an audience, you are never too audacious”. Taking risks and showing bravery in the line of combat … these were the plans of Churchill to become evident in his career while fighting by British Army in the northwest front of the second Boer war. It worked for him!

Metaphorically, J. Bezos also decided to go to the FIRE LINE by leaving his job, which had a good remuneration, in exchange for an unknown path, the creation of the Amazon.com. Although the advice of his immediate boss was not to leave his job, Bezos left in pursuit of his passion [Amazon.com]. Today, Jeffrey Preston Jorgensen, Jeff Bezos, is one of the most successful businessman and richest in the world owner of 113.5 billion dollars in properties.

But what is common between Churchill and Bezos? What motivation did they have that most people do not have? Where did so much inspiration come from to enable overcoming? The answer is simple but its understanding is not so easy … passion. Not interest! Do not confuse one with other! Both men were in love with their causes [passions]. Both men were capable to give the maximum to get their causes [passions]. Each one in his “daily battle” chose to go to the FIRE LINE instead of staying in a BUNKER.

According to the dictionary passion is the mind favorable or contrary to something that exceeds the limits of reason; is feeling, liking or love to the point of obfuscating the reason. Still following the dictionary interest is the state of mind that someone has for what is worthy of attention; is what is important, useful or advantageous, morally, socially or materially. In short, the loss of reason caused by passion leads people to take actions that would normally be blocked by rational mind.

And about a BUNKER? Who prefer one? Hitler preferred! Or best saying, he was forced to remain in one at the end of the Second World War. Although he had instigated his generals to fight until death he was confined to a BUNKER. Totally surrounded by the Allied troops the suicide was his unique exit! So, everyone who remain in a BUNKER, even wanting to fight, is destined to failure. You can even survive but you will lose something that another will gain.

But [the revolutionary 180 degree rotational word] … Einstein used to say that “marriage is a failed attempt to eternalize a passion”. Of course that the passion referenced by Einstein is that which occurs between two persons but let’s extend such conception as passion for a cause too. So, taking into account that Einstein is right no one will ever be able to live forever “married” to a passion. What happens is that people marriage with their passion and over time they manage the passion when it turns a love… LOVE is a administered passion!

So … as a FIRE LINE’s Churchill insight, do not build a BUNKER so you will not have it as an option [remember that there you will be destined to failure]; differentiate interest of passion; marry your passion but have the consent to administer it as a love too [to co-exist with the concept of Einstein]; as a passionate human being lose [a little bit] your reason; give your maximum to get your passion [goal]; go to the FIRE LINE and take actions blocked by rational mind! Somehow the greats men of mankind acted this way! Try it!

___________ S Q N Mind ___________

The text above is another example of the Sine Qua Non Mind - SQNMind - as I wrote earlier on the MEDIUM website The SQNMind theory seeks to extract the best from each book you read. The theory consists to extract the most interesting book passages into “essential” [Sine Qua Non] categories for your mind. This will transform your brain into an ocean of raw knowledge ready to be adapted to your reality under any circumstances.

So to better explain the theory I wrote up little explanations inside the PASSION CATEGORY, one of twenty that I developed after years of reading. As IMPETUS I used Winston Churchill, Jeff Bezos, Hitler and Einstein. Next article will be about PERSISTENCE.

Separate book passages! You do not need to write about them as I did above, just read them as many times as you can. A person with SNQMind has a good chance of succeeding in different areas when compared to those who do not read or read and do not keep the lessons learned.
